Tower Rescue Technician Course

Tower Rescue Technician training prepares emergency responders to safely perform technical rescues involving communications towers, utility structures, antennas, industrial towers, and other elevated structures. Participants develop the specialized knowledge and hands-on skills necessary to access, stabilize, package, and evacuate injured or stranded personnel from vertical and elevated environments.

Training typically includes tower climbing and access techniques, fall protection and fall-arrest systems, rope rescue systems, anchor selection and rigging, lowering and raising operations, patient packaging, litter management, edge transitions, suspension trauma considerations, equipment inspection, and rescue-team communications.

Technicians learn to evaluate tower-specific hazards, select appropriate rescue systems, safely operate technical rescue equipment, and function effectively as part of a coordinated rescue team. Emphasis is placed on personal and team safety, redundant systems, proper equipment use, risk management, and compliance with applicable safety standards and agency procedures. The goal of Tower Rescue Technician training is to provide responders with the advanced skills necessary to safely and effectively rescue personnel from elevated tower structures while minimizing risk to rescuers and patients
